Consultant Paediatric Neuropsychologist
Dr Simcox has extensive experience working with children with learning difficulties, brain injury, epilepsy, autism, ADHD and many other neurological and neurodevelopmental conditions. She also provides cognitive assessments for children with differences in their development who may be struggling at school or with friends, behaviour or emotions.
Dr Simcox trained in psychology at the Universities of Keele, Leeds and Nottingham. She went on to work and train as a paediatric neuropsychologist whilst at King’s College Hospital regional neurosciences centre in London. Here she obtained the prestigious QiCN professional clinical neuropsychology qualification from the British Psychological Society, specialising in paediatric
She has worked in a number of NHS child neuropsychology and neurodisability settings including leading services in community child development centres and hospital-based regional services in the north of England and London. Dr Simcox also set up a child development clinic in Cambodia where she worked for several years.
She then went on to work in the neurodisability and paediatric psychology services at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, where she continues to offer a monthly clinic.
She is active in research and teaching, with a long list of publications in academic, professional and patient journals, and regular conference and teaching presentations. She is also a board member of the British Psychological Society Faculty of Paediatric Neuropsychology.
Dr Simcox has completed the Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate and regularly acts as an expert witness to the legal profession on clinical negligence and personal injury cases.
For Indigo Dr Simcox offers clinics in Middlesbrough, Harrogate, Durham and Leeds, with appointments nationwide by arrangement. She is registered with the major health insurance providers.
